Our headquarters is based in central London and our state of the art 24-hour control centre uses the latest technology to track, schedule, and manage the day to day activities of all our security officers. Because of our extensive range of clients and focus on training officers we are able to offer a vast range of security services.

HRH Prince Bala-Tonglélé, Ph.D
Executive Chairman
Dr Bala-Tonglélé is the founding Chairman of the Golden Shield Group of Companies. He has held a Doctorate Degree in Corporate Planning and Business Administration from the Greenwich School of Management (GSM) since the tender age of 29. Prince Bala-Tonglélé has been an active Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Administrative Management and the Institute of Directors since 1986. He became the First Crown Prince of the State of Plateau by a Royal Charter and Decree dated 18 July 2005. He has been a published author of a series of articles on CCTV monitoring and Manned Security Guarding Services over the years and contributed regularly to City Security Magazine. He has over 25 years’ experience in working within the security guarding industry and was instrumental in the drafting of the Security Industry Act 2001. He is a qualified Trained Trainer, Risk Assessor, Marketing Practitioner and Quality Management System Auditor.
Samantha Jackson
Marketing Manager
Samantha Jackson joined the Golden Shield Security family May of 2007 with a successful background of commercial sales. She began her career after graduating with a BA First Class Honours degree in Tourism Management in 2001. She has held Sales Management roles in the retail and hospitality sectors including at Hilton International. As a newcomer to the security guarding sector, Samantha says of her experience so far: “ Working in the security guarding industry is so exciting. It is such a fast paced environment and no two days are ever the same. I am constantly gaining new knowledge on the various legalities and workings of the industry. I have a fantastic mix of working closely with colleagues and also out on the field meeting new and existing clients. I can see my career going from strength to strength in this role and am committed to the success of Golden Shield. It really is like a large family, everyone from the Head Office staff to the security guards working on site are so friendly and helpful.”
Patrick Runyon
Field Sales & Marketing Manager
Patrick Runyon came on board in September of 2007 and is the newest member to join the Golden Shield Security senior management team. Patrick brings with him a vast experience of successful commercial relationship management. Prior to coming to Golden Shield Security, he held Vice President positions within the American banking system at Wells Fargo Bank and Chittenden Trust Company. Patrick is a honours graduate of California Coast University and holds a BSc in Business Administration. Patrick says “I’m really thrilled about my role within Golden Shield Security. I truly enjoy getting to know my clients and understand their business.”
Elisabeth Grant
Senior Customer Services Manager
Elisabeth Grant has worked for Golden Shield Security since April of 1996 and has spent nearly 12 years in her current position. Prior to joining us, she was a former Legal Secretary with British Telecom plc for eight years and is a graduate from the prestigious Goldsmiths College, London, with a BA in English. Elizabeth has seen the security guarding business grow and prosper to its current status and says of working with Golden Shield: “It’s like being with one big family. We laugh together, we share good and bad times together, but we always end up smiling. If you want looking after, either as a client or an employee, look no further”.
Franco Makwar
Human Resources Manager
Franco Makwar has been with Golden Shield Security for 8 years and comes from a strong background of financial and business management. Franco holds a BSc in Economics from University of Gothenburg, Sweden (Goteborg Universitet) and a BSc in Accounting and Financial Management from Buckingham University, UK. What he enjoys most about working for Golden Shield is the flexibility, leadership and being able to grow with the security guarding business.
